Andy Byers + Youth Pastor
I was born down in the bayou of Louisianna, but have spent most of my life here in the desert. After stops in Artesia and the four corners areas of the state, I wound up at UNM, and began working at Del Norte in 2003. What started as a part-time job to get me through college at that point, has now become the only thing I can imagine doing. I married Joni,my kindergarten sweetheart, in April of 2007, and our daughter Alyssa was born in September of 2008. We bought our first house in 2010 and I'm content to live in it until God makes it possible for me to live inside Disneyland.
Francis Wilson +
Senior Care Pastor
I was born in Athens, GA, but grew up in the small town of Cochran, GA, which is located near the middle of the state. I confessed Christ as my Savior when I was 9 and was baptized in the FBC of Cochran, GA in 1941. I confess that I do not know the date, but I can never recall a time when I did not believe in Jesus as my Savior. I was raised under the influence of my godly mother and grandfather.
I was ordained after accepting my first pastorate in 1952 while a student at Mercer University, an old Georgia Baptist University in Macon, GA. After graduating from Mercer I enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1955, while still a student at the Seminary, I was called as pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Henderson, TX. And, thus began a ministry to Texas Baptist churches that continued for the next twenty years.
In 1976, I became pastor of the First Baptist Church of Alamogordo, NM. Thirteen years later, at the invitation of the Baptists of New Mexico, I became the Business Administrator of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico. In 2001, I retired and began a ministry to Baptist churches as an Intentional Interim Pastor. In 2010 I accepted the position of Senior Care Pastor here at Del Norte.
I married Patsy Hutto, of West Palm Beach, FL in 1956. “Pat”, as she is known, proved to be the greatest asset in my ministry and the mother of our three children, all of them are in the service of our Lord.
