Worship Tech Team

We strive for all of our members to learn to use their gifts and talents.  Whether it be in the church or out in the community somewhere we want everyone to find a place to serve.

Tutoring

Tutoring is provided to the 2nd graders from Governor Bent Elementary School on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30-3:30. Dedicated, loving adults build relationships, one-on-one, with students, while teaching reading and math skills. There is no preparation needed, everything is provided for you. The only thing you need to do is come and spend time with some 2nd graders who really need to know that Jesus loves them.

ETC

Extended Teaching Care – ETC – is provided for babies and preschoolers during both of our morning worship services on Sundays. ETC reinforces the lessons taught during the Sunday School hour. Workers in ETC are ambassadors for our church, they cheerfully greet families who are just arriving and assist them as needed.

Bread Ministry

Every Sunday we offer visitors a loaf of homemade bread, and there is a team that takes care of that every week.Their mission is to greet visitors and welcome them to Del Norte Baptist Church by giving them a bag containing information about our church and a loaf of homemade bread.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands Ministry   It is a clearinghouse where our older members can call for assistance in maintenance and repairs around their home and car.  We have a list of Baptist Men who have time and ability to assist them with most problems that they would otherwise have to hire skilled workmen such as a plumber, carpenter, electrician, mechanic, etc.  The only cost would be for the parts and/or supplies needed to do the job.  However, if they could not afford that we could make arrangements to provide the parts.  We have a budget line item that anyone who would like could contribute to the "Helping Hands Ministry" through the Church and funds could be taken from this fund to pay for the parts.  The Baptist Men would do the repairs without charging for the labor.  Here is a partial list of some of the things our Seniors might need help with:   Repairing minor plumbing leaks Repairing lamps Replacing light bulbs Replacing batteries in smoke alarms Replacing garbage disposals Hanging ceiling fans Installing smoke alarms Replacing batteries in remote door bells Replacing broken door bells Adjusting or replacing sprinkler heads Winterizing Swamp coolers Lighting pilot lights Oiling squeaky door hinges Getting sliding doors back on track Replacing rollers on sliding doors Computer help Jump-starting cars Changing oil and oil filters on cars Writing letters Transportation to doctors, pharmacies, groceries, etc. Picking up prescriptions Yard clean-up Weeds pulled.

Albuquerque Rescue Mission

The Sunday School Adult 6 Department (ages: 60 – 69 yrs.) took on a mission project of helping to serve food to the homeless every Thursday evening at the Albuquerque Rescue Mission.

Involvement in this mission is NOT limited to just the members of the Adult 6 Department. You are welcome to be a part of one of the serving teams. Typically, each person is required to serve one Thursday night per month. If you have any questions regarding this project please call: Margaret Soule at 821-3256.

Eagles Wings Youth Ranch

The Christian Retreat Center was founded in 1992 by Albert and Dianne Hagan. It was their dream to provide a Summer camp to help at-risk boys and girls from 10 – 12 years old. The first camp was held in the summer of 1998.

One of our Sunday School classes in the Adult 4 Department chose Eagle’s Wings Youth Ranch as a mission project. This class has become a resource of necessary items for the operation of the camp. In 2007 they provided Bibles for every boy and girl that came to the camp.

Involvement in this mission is NOT limited to only members of that Adult 4 Sunday School Class. If you have any questions please call Eileen Goode at 243-7683 or you can speak directly to the Directors of the camp Albert and Dianne Hagan at (505) 847-0062. Correspondence and other information may be obtained by writing to Eagle’s Wings Youth Ranch P.O. Box 465 Mountainair, NM 87036 or you can visit their website by clicking here.

Kinder Closet

The “Kinder Kloset” is an individually endowed program. Purchases are made from this fund to stock the closet with a variety of items that sick or homebound people would use and enjoy. Individuals may choose from the items and take them to anyone who has a need. Hopefully, this gesture will brighten their spirits and let them know they are not forgotten. Contact the church office for access to the closet.

Greeters & Ushers

The greeters and ushers of Del Norte Baptist Church are vital to the purpose and goals of the church. We believe that every person who attends should feel welcome and important. The primary job of the greeter and usher is to ensure that every member and every guest is sincerely welcomed, and that every guest is escorted to his or her proper destination in the church building. The Greeters and Ushers ministry is one that any person can be a part of.

Security

The Security Patrol is a volunteer program to help secure the parking areas on Sunday mornings as people are coming and going to services. Church goers can be at ease that their vehicles are safe and secure while they are attending the worship services or Sunday school. It also serves as a welcoming team out in the parking areas as people arrive on Sunday morning. There are some 50 or so members who help out in the Security Patrol ministry. Every person only has patrol duty about every three months for part of the Sunday morning. They walk the parking areas keeping an eye on things as well as visiting with the church members as they come or depart the church grounds. Everyone is welcome to come and join in one of the easiest ministries in the Church.

Worship Technical Support Team

The Worship Technical Support Team takes care of the technical aspects of our Sunday morning worship services. This mainly consists of running the sound and video projection systems. Training is available at certain times during the year, and anyone who is interested in joining this team should contact the media arts minister, Andy Byers.
