We have several annual events that occur at Del Norte, some coincide with holidays,
while others are designed for outreach or spiritual growth

Vacation Bible School – VBS – is a fun-filled spiritual adventure for children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade. It provides concentrated Bible study and encourages real life application. Each day is packed with Bible stories, music, games, missions activities and small group interaction. This year's theme is "Outrigger Island: Living God's Unshakebale Truth" and will be held June 23-27 from 9am to noon. If you have any questions please contact the church office. Melodrama

The Melodrama is a three act play of an original script written especially for the “City on a Hill” actors here at Del Norte Baptist Church. The audience is encouraged to participate by “booing” the villain and “cheering” the hero. This is a very humorous, family-friendly, and at times “extremely corny” show. But a good time is had by all. Different courses of the menu are served in between the acts while vignettes (or as we call them: “olios”) reminiscent of old variety shows continue to entertain the audience.

The Melodrama has been running for two consecutive weekends in February since 2004. This annual dinner theater sells out all four nights on a regular basis. The proceeds of this event help to fund mission endeavors and local charities. To date more than $10,000 has been given to some very worth while projects.
The cast is limited to less than twenty actors but it requires nearly 100 people every year to produce the show. Several teams work together to paint scenery, set up tables and chairs, prepare meals, wash dishes and clean up the building.

Tickets usually go on sale immediately after the first of each new year.

Youth Camps

Every year there are trips and camps that we go on as a youth ministry. A couple of the regular trips that we make are Youth Music Camp at Inlow, which occurs in early July, and Lives Ablaze which is the Baptist Convention of New Mexico’s Student Evangelism Conference and happens every Labor Day weekend. There are also other trips and retreats that the youth, or certain members of the youth will take from time to time. For all of our activities for youth click here.

Youth Mission Trip

Every summer the youth of Del Norte spend a week during the summer on a mission trip. Not only do our young people get an opportunity to use their gifts and abilities, but its also an awesome week of growing together as a group. I mean, what better way to get closer than having to find a way for 4-5 teenagers to share a bathroom for the week? Past trips have included going to other churches here in our state to do Vacation Bible School, and this last year we stayed right here in Albuquerque and emphasized the fact that we live right in the midst of a huge mission field.
